Sand Dough
4 cups clean sand
2 cups cornstarch
1tbs + 1tsp cream of tarter
3 cups hot water

Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture is too stiff to stir. Cool until it can be handled. For best results, use flexible, flat molds coated with vaseline or sculpt with hands. Store in air tight container.

No Cook Playdough
3 Cups Flour
3 Tbs Alum
1/2 Cup salt
2 Tbs. cooking oil
2 cups boiling water

Add 10 drops of food coloring to liquid or 2-3 Tbs dry tempra to flour. Adjust color intensity as desired. Mix ingredients in order given. Knead well. Keeps up to 6 months in plastic zip bag.

Bakers Clay
1 1/2 cups salt
4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups water

Mix flour and salt in a bowl and gradually add water. When dough ball forms knead with hands well. Bake small shapes at 300 for 30-40 minutes. Can be painted afterwards. Great to make Christmas ornaments with!

Kool-Aid Play Dough
2 1/2-3 cups Flour
2 cups boiling water with 1 pkg of kool-aid(any flavor or color)
3 Tbs oil
1/2 cup salt
1Tbs. alum

Mix ingredients and knead with flour(may take up to 1 extra cup). Keeps well, very colorful, has wonderful fragrance.

Kool-Aid Fingerpaint
2 cups flour
2 pack unsweetened kool-aid
1/2 cup salt
3 cups boiling water
3 tbs. oil

Mix wet ingredients into dry. The kids love the color change. Then paint away.

Play Putty(like Silly Putty)
1/2 cup Elmers All purpose glue
1/4 cup Linit Liquid Starch
Liquid food coloring

Pour glue into container, add food coloring and 1 tablespoon of the liquid starch. mix thoroughly to get an even texture. Continue adding starch 1 tablespoon at a time and working into a smooth putty with your fingers.

Bubbles #1
1/4 cup Dawn dishwashing detergent
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 Tbs. light corn syrup

Mix and allow to rest 2 days

|Bubbles #2
1 cup dishwashing detergent (Dawn, Joy, or Ajax work best)
1 Tbs. glycerin (you can find in the drug section of the grocery store)
1 gallon water

Mix all ingredients allow bubbles to settle.  Use a variety of items to blow bubbles with. Straws, flyswatters, coat hangers, string, paper towel tubes. etc.

Flubber
2 cups plus 1/3 cups water
3 Tbs Borax (Muleteam laundry booster)
16oz. white school glue

Put borax in 1/3 cup warm water to disolve. Add several drops of food coloring. Pour remaining water in a large bowl and add glue. stir until mixed. add borax solution. Remove ALL jewelery and mix with hands until water is absorbed. It takes about 5 minutes. Store in ziplock bag

Colored Bubbles
Dishwashing detergent
food coloring or washable paint
a straw
paper
shallow pan

Mix about 1/2 cup detergent and 1/3 cup of water in a shallow pan. mix in food coloring or washable paint. Take the pan outside, dip one end of straw into paint/bubble lift it up and blow through other end to make bubble. Pop colored bubbles on a white piece of paper to make great "bubble prints". You can also tape the paper on a fence and blow the bubbles toward the fence.

Body Paint
White hand lotion
2-3 drops washable kids paint(like crayola)
2-3 drops liquid hand soap

Squirt lotion into small cup. Add soap and paint. Use brush or q-tip to apply.

Sidewalk or Driveway Paint
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup corn starch
food coloring

Mix water and corn starch together. Then add food coloring(the amount of food coloring determines how deep the color). Use a muffin tin and make several colors, then set the kids loose with some paint brushes! When the "paint" dries it is like chalk and can be washed away with a hose.
