Sidewalk Chalk
Styrofoam Cups
sturdy mixing spoon
plaster of paris
dry tempra paint
water
Assortment of molds-
small dixie cups, yogurt/pudding cups, plastic popsicle molds, etc.

fill styrofoam cup 3/4 full of plaster of paris. Add 1 tablespoon of dry tempra paint and mix. slowly add water constantly stirring until the mixture is like cake batter. pour mixture into molds. let dry at least 2 hours. pop out of molds

Finger Paint
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
2 cups cold water
1/4 cup dishwashing liquid
food coloring or tempra paints

mix sugar and cornstarch in small saucepan. slowly add water. cook over low heat for 5 minutes stirring constantly until it forms a smooth clear gel. When cool stir in dishwashing liquid soap. scoop into small containers and stir in food coloring drops or tempra paint.

"Snow paint"
2 parts shaving cream
1 part white school glue

Use this mixture to paint on dark colored paper to make snow scenes. Add glitter if you like. the paint will stay puffy after it has dried.

Modeling Goop
4 cups baking soda
2 cups cornstarch
(2) 3/4 cups water
cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and pulls away from pan. cool knead. store in ziploc bag.

Slime...
1/2 cup school glue
1/2 cup liquid landry starch

mix glue and starch into bowl stir thoroughly. let sit for 5 minutes. The mixture will be extremely watery. knead and play with the mixture for 10 minutes and will resemble store bought "Gooze' Use straws and blow bubbles into mixture.

Homemade Washable Paint
mix 3/4 cups of liquid tempra paint with 1/4 cup dreft liquid detergent
stir well.
Rainbow Crayons
OLD muffin pans
old broken crayons

Preheat oven to 250. Peel paper off crayons. Put 5-10 different colored pieces in each muffin space. Place muffin pan in oven until crayons melt. Let crayons cool over night. Remove from pans and create beautiful rainbow pictures.

Vinegar Dough
3 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
1/4 cup oil
2 Tbs. vinegar

Mix all ingredient in a bowl. Add more water if necessary. Knead.  Store in airtight ziploc bag.

Instant Stickers
2 tsp flavored gelatin
5 tsp boiling water
old magazines, comic books
or gift wrap
clean paintbrush

cut out a bunch of pictures from magazines wrapping paper ect. mix water and gelatin until disolved. let cool. use paintbrush to paint thin layers of gelatin mixture on the back of the cutouts. Let dry. lick stickers when ready to stick.

4-ever Handprint...
1 cup cornstarch
2 cups baking soda
1 tablespoon oil
1 1/4 cups cold water
1 tablespoon food coloring

in a sauce pan mix cornstarch and baking soda. add water and oil and stir until smooth. Cook over low heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens and holds a shape. Turn out onto a plate and cover with at damp cloth. When cool enough dust counter with cornstarch. have children place their hand prints in dough. air dry

Puffy Paint
flour
salt
water
food coloring
mix equal parts of flour and salt in a bowl. then mix water and some food coloring. Add water mixture to dry ingredients. spoon mixture into squeeze bottles. as mixture dries on paper it will appear puffy.
